Carcade Applies The View Outside For The Game Backdrop Inside - Gizmo Watch

Carcade Applies The View Outside For The Game Backdrop Inside - Gizmo Watch: "If few car crashes happened, leave it to geeks to add another touch to the nuisance. Carcade, an augmented reality in-car video game, is the new jeopardy for the road hitters. Designed with entertainment purposes in mind by Berlin University of Arts students Nicolas Fischer, Martin Kim Luge and Korbinian Polk, Carcade is a video game for the in-car passengers, not the driver, of course. The game captures the landscape outside while the car is in motion and converts the same into the videogame environment. This is done with the assistance of a notebook with camera tracking software to which a webcam is attached. The game is to move the spaceship, dodging hurdles, created by the real time trajectory outside to collect points. The pace at which the car moves determines the intensity of the game. The game is both single and two-player, it has been developed as a working prototype, and we also learn that it is doing well. You could enjoy the video after the jump to see what we have said. But before you get your hands on this, watch out, guys... don’t get too glued."
