Fujitsu's New Technology Can Measure Real-time Temperature At 10,000 Areas - Gizmo Watch

Fujitsu's New Technology Can Measure Real-time Temperature At 10,000 Areas - Gizmo Watch: "If you have been ranting about the unnecessary power wastage due to improper air-conditioning in your datacenter then Fujitsu’s got some good news for you. They’ve developed a new technology that helps in measuring accurate and real-time temperature of multiple areas using an optical fiber. And here multiple means whooping 10,000 areas and that too using single optical fiber. This technology can be used in datacenters to monitor temperature changes and to maintain a work-safe temperature easily. That will obviously save datacenter owners some money by cutting down bills and will also reduce the possibility of fire due to excessive heating. Fujitsu plans to use this technology in air-conditioners and also to use the heat wasted, so that datacenters can be run in a more power-efficient way."
